Job Summary

The Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team as an Adult Speech and Language Services Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing speech-language pathology services to adults in our facilities and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Conduct videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) and other assessments as required
  • Provide education and training to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing strategies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba
  • Eligibility to practice and maintain licensure in Manitoba
  • Experience in adult speech and language services, preferably in an institutional setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS)
  • Certification by the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Indigenous languages
