WAGE RATE: $39.07 – $56.00
The Registered Nurse, under the supervision of the site Manager, plays a vital role in enhancing health outcomes through comprehensive assessment, care provision, and treatment of various health conditions. This includes supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care aimed at helping patients achieve or maintain their highest level of functioning.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Active Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility for registration
- Competence in interpreting basic arrhythmias
- Flexibility to work in the Medical/Surgical Unit as needed
- Current certification in or willingness to obtain: ACLS, PALS, BCLS, CTAS, and Delegated medical acts
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient assessment and interviewing capabilities
- Readiness to escort patients via ambulance services when necessary
- Willingness to adjust work hours to meet the needs of the unit, staff, and patients
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives
- Availability to work all shifts as required
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
- Basic computer proficiency
- Engagement in staff meetings and unit-specific projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Recent satisfactory attendance and performance record
- Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and 'LEAD' Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others), along with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace free from violence and harassment
- Advocacy for a culture of patient safety, demonstrating an understanding of how departmental services and responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Emergency Nursing Certificate
- Completion of a Physical Assessment Course
- TNCC or equivalent certification
- Recent experience in Medical/Surgical/PACU/Day Surgery/Critical Care settings
- Two years of recent experience in Emergency care
- NRP certification
