Job Title: Freight Forwarding Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Recruit and Train Staff: Lead a team of logistics professionals and provide guidance on best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage Finances and Budget: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure the company's financial stability.
  • Arrange Shipping Documentation and Tracking: Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure accurate and timely documentation and tracking of shipments.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance: Verify that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards.
  • Establish Policies and Standards: Develop and implement policies and procedures for the transportation and storage of goods, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Negotiate Services and Rates: Build and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and customers to negotiate favorable rates and services.
  • Oversee Vehicle and Goods Scheduling: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure efficient and timely transportation.
  • Record Cargo Information: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, including hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as logistics, transportation, or business.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a logistics or transportation management role.
  • Work Setting: Shipping company or agency.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, excellent written communication, judgment, organized, and proactive.
