Job Title: Greeter

Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre is seeking a Greeter to join our team. As a Greeter, you will be the first point of contact for community members visiting our Indigenous-led Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine (RAAM) Clinic.

Job Summary

The Greeter will provide a welcoming and supportive environment for community members, ensuring their comfort and safety while navigating our clinic. This role requires strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome and support community members entering the clinic, including those from diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Nurture a judgement-free and shame-free environment, focused on harm-reduction and individual healing journeys.
  • Emphasize culturally sensitive and person-centered care, recognizing the importance of decolonizing healthcare systems and spaces.
  • Deliver safe practices in accordance with AHWC's program standards, policy, and procedural operations, as well as RAAM's program standards and Regional Health and Provincial protocols.
  • Facilitate crowd control and clinic flow, ensuring a smooth experience for community members.
  • Assist with navigation through the site and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to address operational issues and ensure a positive experience for community members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with a commitment to decolonizing healthcare systems and spaces.
