Job Summary

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Psychiatric Nurse, the Health Care Aide provides essential support to residents and patients in meeting their daily living needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents and patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as outlined in their care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients, promoting a sense of well-being and dignity.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, working collaboratively with the care team to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident and patient care, adhering to confidentiality and privacy standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations, exercising sound judgment and initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and patients.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
  • One to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical and mental stamina to perform the demands of the job, including working in stressful environments.
