As a Lead Tax Consultant at Millards, your role will encompass managing client engagements for domestic tax-related matters, working closely with our Partners and Staff on tax strategy initiatives, conducting thorough research on intricate tax issues, and offering vital support to other team members and Partners as needed.

Your responsibilities as a Lead Tax Consultant will include:
- Developing and executing tax minimization and estate planning strategies.
- Leading the formulation and implementation of strategies for clients to maximize business tax advantages.
- Identifying and documenting tax filing positions while conducting risk assessments.
- Overseeing the review of personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns, along with other tax-related documents.
- Preparing memoranda, client correspondence, and reports to address complex tax matters.
- Leading interactions with tax authorities during audits and appeals.
- Providing guidance, training, and mentorship to tax department personnel.
Qualifications include:
- A minimum of five (5) years of tax experience, with a solid foundation in tax management.
- Completion of the In-depth Tax Course.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in Canadian tax compliance, planning, and management.
- Proficiency in income tax accounting.
- Understanding of the Canada/US tax treaty.
- Demonstrated experience in liaising with Canadian tax authorities.
- Exceptional project management and presentation skills.
