Accounting Technician Job Description

At SMOKE AVENUE, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team. As an Accounting Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, maintaining financial records, and establishing and balancing various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and financial statements.
  • Accounting Tasks: Perform a variety of accounting tasks, including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, posting journal entries, and preparing statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in accounting software, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, MS Word, Quick Books, and TaxPrep.
  • Area of Specialization: Accounting.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, overtime required, repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, organized, reliability, and time management.
  • Screening Questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada? Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?
