Rush Enterprises, Inc. is a leading commercial vehicle dealership group in North America, representing a wide range of industry-leading truck and trailer brands. We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at our Timmins dealership.
This is a full-time permanent position, reporting to the Service Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs to all types of trucks, buses, trailers, and other automotive vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
- Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
- Read job orders, observe, and listen to vehicles in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Perform general and detailed repairs of all trucks, engines, and components.
- Document work performed.
- Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and make adjustments as needed.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty.
- Attend training classes and stay up-to-date with factory technical bulletins.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Licensed or Registered Apprentice (310T).
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a truck shop environment.
- Welding experience is an asset.
- Diagnostic tool experience is an asset.
- Good communication skills and work attitude.
- Quality-driven.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Driver's Abstract.
- AZ/DZ License is an asset.
