Brandt is seeking a skilled Leadhand to join our Edmonton branch. This role is responsible for overseeing the Service department's workload, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity, and providing high-quality repair work. The successful candidate will advise and make recommendations to the Shop Foreman and Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
  • Appraise repair orders coming into the Service Department, participate in repairs, and review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing machine problems.
  • Inspect and repair special tools, recommending new tooling as required.
  • Advise the Shop Foreman or Service Manager of customer complaints.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • May fill the Shop Foreman's role in their absence.
  • May arrange for and participate in reconditioning used equipment and setting up new equipment.
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to customers.
  • May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience as a heavy duty service technician.
  • Journeyman certificate required.
  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Ability to work multiple shift patterns.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
