Job SummaryThe Junior Commercial Insurance Specialist will quote and bind new business proposals, renewals, and endorsements for multi-peril and commercial policies, adhering to established authority levels to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio.
- Ensure all active policies are maintained and issued in accordance with service standards, with the appropriate labels, annexes, and certificates.
- Make risk selection decisions for renewals and endorsements and ensure all policies are issued in accordance with service standards, with the appropriate labels, annexes, and certificates.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with brokers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to phone inquiries, making outgoing calls, responding to emails and/or faxes as needed.
- Work collaboratively with brokers to respond to inquiries regarding claims, pricing, and accounting.
- Ensure the tracking and writing of daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports on production activities.
- One to three (1-3) years of experience in commercial multi-peril insurance underwriting.
- Post-secondary education in a related field or working towards a Professional Administrative Assistant (PAA) designation.
- Excellent organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to set priorities effectively to meet deadlines while paying close attention to details.
- A team player with a positive attitude to provide impeccable service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to establish professional relationships.
