Job Title: Cleaner - Environmental Services

North York General Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cleaner - Environmental Services to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services Department, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general housekeeping activities, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors, as well as collecting garbage and handling waste.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, and carpet extractors, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Strip, disinfect, and make discharged beds ready for new admissions.
  • Replenish supplies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Grade XII diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cleaning experience, preferably with a microfiber system.
  • Ability to read, write English, and follow written instructions.
  • Good understanding of chemical and equipment use, including vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.
