Job Overview

The Vice President of Financial Operations plays a pivotal role within the finance department, directly reporting to the Vice President of Finance. This position is responsible for producing comprehensive financial reports for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Board of Directors, and various stakeholders. Key responsibilities encompass supporting strategic initiatives such as IPO readiness, financial transformation, automation, and the implementation of ERP systems. This role also includes overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, revenue accounting, and internal controls, necessitating collaboration with the wider Finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile quarterly financial reporting documents, consolidated financial statements, Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), and materials for the audit committee.
  • Offer expertise on accounting issues, financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Analyze and interpret new IFRS standards and complex agreements to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Enhance the quality and timeliness of financial information presented at Audit Committee meetings.
  • Oversee revenue accounting and the internal controls program while advising on accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to refine processes and financial systems.
  • Engage in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting hazards and incidents.

Qualifications
