Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Cambridge, Ontario. This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial dimensions of contracts, which encompass project initiation, budget adjustments, and revenue acknowledgment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Oversee Fixed Price and Time & Material contracts, primarily focusing on long-term, intricate projects.
  • Revenue Recognition: Determine revenue recognition in accordance with ASC606 and manage foreign exchange forward contracts related to projects.
  • Project Setup: Establish and maintain project details in SAP and Timberline, ensuring accurate budget uploads and documentation for contract modifications.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial forecasts, variance analysis, and monthly project reports to monitor budget adherence and cash flow.
  • Customer Invoicing: Collaborate with Project Managers to issue milestone billings and ensure accurate invoicing based on project costs.
  • Forecasting: Conduct monthly forecasts for ongoing projects, including bookings, revenue, and cash flow projections.
  • Meeting Preparation: Assemble necessary documentation for internal reviews, including profit statements and risk assessments.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Assist in providing information for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to audit and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in an accounting-related field, complemented by a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a manufacturing context. An accounting designation or enrollment in a designation program is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with advanced spreadsheet skills, is essential.
