About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team at Kamloops Lollipop Kids Centre. As an Early Childhood Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our centre and ensuring the well-being and development of our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Early Childhood Educators: Assist in implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead Activities: Plan and lead activities that foster learning and development, such as storytelling, singing, and educational outings.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Child Development: Guide and support children in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Snack Preparation: Prepare healthy snacks for children and ensure a safe and clean environment for meal times.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents and supervisors.
  • Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and address any concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctual, with good judgement, reliability, and ability to multitask.
