Position Overview

The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations is actively seeking to fill the role of Print and Mail Production Specialist.

In this capacity, the Print and Mail Production Specialist will collaborate with the Client Services and Planning team to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective printing and mailing solutions. Acting as the liaison between clients, production personnel, and external partners, this position is tasked with offering guidance, advice, and interpretation of relevant guidelines and regulations to Members of Parliament and their staff, House Officers, Administration personnel, and the Library of Parliament regarding their design, printing, and mailing needs. Responsibilities include assisting with cost estimation and planning services, scheduling in-house production for various requests, and performing pre-flight checks on electronic files.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Certification from a recognized graphic communications and technical institute in production control, project management, and planning, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in a client service-oriented role;
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles;
  • Proven ability to effectively advise clients on technical matters and provide interpretations related to printing and mailing services;
  • Experience in scheduling, monitoring, coordinating, and prioritizing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Publisher;
  • Experience in generating reports and presentations;
  • Knowledge of Canada Post Corporation Service Standards.
