Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Elid Construction Inc. as a key member of our estimating department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for various construction projects. This will involve working closely with our project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure that our estimates are comprehensive and meet the client's requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Develop and maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure project profitability
  • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with estimating software and MS Excel
  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
