Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Instructor of Natural Resources to join our team at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum in the area of natural resources, with a focus on forestry and environmental education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional materials and courses in natural resources, forestry, and environmental education
  • Teach and mentor students in a variety of instructional settings, including face-to-face and online
  • Design and implement assessments and evaluations to measure student learning and program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to develop and maintain curriculum and instructional resources
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in natural resources and environmental education
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as forestry, environmental science, or education
  • Minimum of three years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, or industry experience in natural resources
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in a variety of instructional technologies and digital tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • BC Instructors Diploma or BC Teaching Certificate
  • Experience with blended learning and online instruction
  • Knowledge of computer applications and learning technologies
