Event Operations Manager for Educational Institutions

As a key player in our culinary operations, you will collaborate closely with the General Manager and the Culinary team to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of various events. Your role will encompass a range of responsibilities, including:
- Ensuring the successful execution of events by managing the entire event process, which includes organizing client meetings, detailing event specifications, overseeing budgets, and sourcing external resources as necessary.
- Generating on-site sales for future events while working in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Partnering with all relevant departments to guarantee timely completion of all event components in alignment with client expectations.
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef and clients to curate suitable menus for each event.
- Facilitating menu planning meetings with all necessary stakeholders.
- Being readily available to clients throughout their events, while monitoring and managing key service elements.
- Coordinating non-food supplies essential for each event, such as linens, laundry services, staffing agencies, equipment rentals, and floral arrangements.
- Designing the layout of the event space in accordance with client specifications and health & safety standards.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations by all staff during event setup and on the event day.
- Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records of any modifications that may impact the final billing for each event.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A post-secondary diploma is required; a degree in a related field, particularly in Hospitality or Event Planning, is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in planning and executing medium to large-scale events.
- The ability to manage multiple projects independently while demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
- A focus on maximizing revenue while delivering exceptional value and service to clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with event management software is an advantage.
- Strong initiative, a hospitality-oriented mindset, and exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Flexibility, a pleasant demeanor, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
