Hospitalist Physician

Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking dedicated physicians to join their Hospitalist program.
The program offers flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and locum positions. As a member of a collaborative team of four Hospitalists, you will provide comprehensive care to a patient panel of 15-20 patients with varying acuity levels.

A daily rate is provided for full lines of service, with additional remuneration for on-call shifts during weekends and holidays. Fee-for-service billing opportunities are available for after-hours consultations, and sessional rates are offered for callback services.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical management to a panel of hospitalized patients
- Collaborate with community healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions of care
- Adhere to all relevant bylaws and regulations governing medical practice
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Current coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) or an equivalent professional liability insurance plan
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
On-call duty is a shared responsibility, ensuring 24/7 coverage during your assigned hospitalist week. Minimal overnight calls and rare evening hospital visits are required. Coverage is typically needed for 1-2 weeks per 4-week cycle. Additional opportunities for shifts may be available based on your availability and interests, including participation in orphan patient clinics, emergency room coverage, or locum positions at local clinics.
