Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team at Emterra Group. As an Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of our recycling and waste management facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including front wheel loaders, excavators, track dozers, compactors, and forklifts, to move and load solid waste and recyclable materials.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure that equipment is serviced and in good working condition.
  • Screen solid waste materials received at the transfer station and remove unauthorized materials in accordance with site operational procedures.
  • Assist with directing traffic and guiding customer vehicles into position for proper unloading of waste.
  • Perform manual work related to transfer station operations, including cleaning waste loading and unloading areas.
  • Recordkeeping as required, including inspections, pre/post-trip maintenance activities, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service and answer questions as needed.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalency is an asset.
  • Current valid Class 5 BC Driver's license is a mandatory requirement.
  • Previous experience operating wheel loaders, track excavators, track dozers, compactors, and forklifts is a requirement.
  • Previous experience working in a transfer station is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of OFA and WHMIS is preferred.
  • Equipment certification and TDG certification is preferred.
