Job Overview

Canada Post is a leading provider of postal and courier services, and we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mail Carrier, Delivery Agent, or Postal Clerk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and prepare mail and packages for delivery
  • Load and drive a postal vehicle
  • Deliver mail and packages to customers on a designated route
  • Unload incoming mail and packages at the depot

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Operate material handling equipment to sort and process mail and packages
  • Receive and accept mail items, and sort, scan, and sequence them for delivery
  • Transfer and dispatch parcels and packets
  • Perform other postal clerk duties as required

Requirements

  • A valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The ability to work in all types of weather
  • The availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience making deliveries or working as a driver
  • Experience working in a production environment
