About the Role

The University of Ottawa is seeking a qualified and experienced Taxation Instructor to deliver engaging and informative instruction in our undergraduate program. This part-time position offers an opportunity to share your expertise in Canadian Federal Income Tax with a diverse student body.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive instruction on the Canadian Federal Income Tax system, covering individual taxpayer provisions and calculations.
  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials that effectively convey complex tax concepts to students.
  • Facilitate interactive classroom discussions and provide clear explanations of tax principles.
  • Assess student understanding through various methods, including exams, assignments, and class participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide timely feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Taxation or a related field.
  • Demonstrated recent professional experience in taxation, ideally within the Canadian context.
  • Proven teaching experience, particularly in the area of taxation.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA).

Teaching Mode:

This position requires in-person instruction. However, the University reserves the right to adjust teaching methods based on evolving circumstances.
