Commercial Underwriting Specialist - Managing General Agent (MGA)

As a Commercial Underwriting Specialist for our Managing General Agent (MGA), you will be instrumental in enhancing the growth and profitability of our current MGA partnerships. Your role will involve building robust relationships with MGA underwriters and management, engaging in strategic decision-making, and facilitating the onboarding process for new MGA collaborators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite non-standard or challenging risks
  • Conduct thorough underwriting evaluations on prospective MGA opportunities
  • Manage the MGA portfolio, offering insights for enhancing MGA collaborations
  • Work alongside internal teams to create and revise MGA agreements
  • Engage in quarterly business assessments with MGA leadership
  • Foster positive relationships and collaborate with the MGA team and Aviva at large

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical commercial lines underwriting
  • Strong skills in marketing and relationship management
  • In-depth technical understanding of complex risk scenarios
  • Exceptional communication and analytical abilities
  • Capability to operate both independently and as part of a team
