Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Financial Reporting Manager is tasked with overseeing junior team members within the Finance Department and managing the financial and accounting processes. This includes the preparation of all internal and external financial reports, coordination of the year-end audit, and the creation of new financial reports within the accounting system, while ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management: Develop and nurture positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries.

Operational Oversight: Lead a team of Financial Reporting Staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks to established standards. Set team objectives and conduct performance evaluations. Facilitate individual and team meetings, and provide training and mentoring on accounting standards pertinent to Real Estate Financial Statements under IFRS. Continuously assess and refine the financial close process to enhance efficiency. Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, assist the Director of Finance with interim and annual audits, and develop reporting procedures that comply with internal control requirements. Aid in the preparation and presentation of materials for Board of Trustees and Executive Committee meetings.

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment to excellence in customer service;
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Accounting;
  • A qualifying CA designation is mandatory;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in audit advisory, external reporting, and/or corporate finance;
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS is essential;
  • Exceptional verbal, analytical, organizational, and written communication skills;
  • Ability to cultivate business opportunities and partnerships;
  • Experience in the Real Estate industry is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with Yardi property management systems is a plus.
