Position Overview:

Reporting to the Project Team Lead, the Labourer plays a crucial role in supporting various operational tasks across assigned projects or joint ventures. Collaborating with a team, the Project Labourer is expected to assist fellow Labourers and provide necessary support to Equipment Operators. This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of pre-employment and pre-access testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general upkeep, maintenance, and cleaning tasks at the office, yard, or project site.
  • Perform assigned duties, including transporting materials, parts collection, employee shuttling, basic vehicle maintenance, and site clean-up.
  • Act as a spotter for vehicle or equipment movements when required.
  • Operate a skid steer to facilitate operations as needed; training may be provided.
  • Engage in toolbox meetings, offering suggestions for safety and operational improvements.
  • Notify the Team Lead or Shift Supervisor of any necessary equipment maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain a vigilant safety presence, ensuring the security of the client site and the safety of colleagues.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and requirements established by the client while on-site.
  • Carry out any additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  • A valid class five (5) driver's license is essential.
  • A satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract is required.
  • Experience in the construction industry, particularly on project sites, is preferred, especially in Mining, Civil Construction, and Heavy Equipment Operation.
  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certifications are required.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on task execution.
  • Able to accept guidance positively and work effectively within a team.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding tasks.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, is required.

Work Schedule:

This is a temporary full-time position located at the Kearl Oil Sands Site. The work schedule consists of 14 days on followed by 7 days off, with shifts alternating between days and nights, totaling 11.5 hours per shift.
