Position Overview:

Reporting to the Project Team Lead, the Labourer plays a crucial role in supporting various operational tasks across assigned projects or joint ventures. Collaborating with fellow team members, the Project Labourer will assist Equipment Operators and contribute to the overall success of the project. This position is safety-sensitive and requires the completion of necessary pre-employment testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support general maintenance, cleanliness, and labor tasks at the office, yard, or project site as required.
  • Execute assigned tasks including the transportation of materials, parts retrieval, and employee shuttling.
  • Act as a spotter for vehicle or equipment movements when necessary.
  • Operate a skid steer to assist operations, with training provided as needed.
  • Engage in toolbox meetings, offering suggestions for safety and operational improvements.
  • Notify the Team Lead or Shift Supervisor of any equipment maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain a vigilant focus on safety, ensuring the well-being of the worksite and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all client policies and procedures while on-site.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A valid class five (5) driver's license is mandatory.
  • A satisfactory 3-year Drivers Abstract is essential.
  • Experience in the construction industry, particularly on project sites, is preferred, especially in Mining, Civil Construction, and Heavy Equipment Operation.
  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certifications are required.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on task completion.
  • Able to follow directions, maintain a positive attitude, and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding tasks.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.

Position Details:

This is a temporary full-time role located at a project site. The work schedule consists of 14 days on and 7 days off, with shifts lasting 11.5 hours.
