About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Control Engineer to join our Complex Risk Solutions Group (CRSG). As a key member of our team, you will provide technical expertise to our clients, helping them to effectively manage and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of facilities and management systems, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with Underwriter Engineers to provide property risk control advice to clients, focusing on risk mitigation and loss prevention.
  • Develop and implement risk control design reviews for new projects and facility upgrades, ensuring cost-effective loss mitigation investments.
  • Recommend risk improvement strategies and initiatives aligned with client business objectives.
  • Review client procedures, such as Emergency Response, Crisis Management, and Business Continuity Plans, to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Conduct research on specific property risk control topics to identify best practices and emerging trends.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients, providing actionable insights to inform their risk management decisions.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree and a licensed Professional Engineer in the province of residence.
  • 10 or more years of property risk control insurance experience, with a focus on natural resource industry clients.
  • Unrestricted ability to travel internationally to visit client facilities as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to act independently and as a self-starter.
  • Experience with other lines of risk control, such as machinery, liability, and construction, is an asset.
