About the Role
WestRock is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of health and safety within our workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating hazards.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of health and safety.
- Coordinate and manage health and safety training programs.
- Investigate incidents and near-miss incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety matters.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in a relevant field with a specialization in occupational health and safety.
- Completion of the General Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (GHS) training program.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the paper and packaging industry.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
