About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Student to join our team at PCL Construction. As an Estimating Student, you will play a crucial role in supporting our estimating team in preparing bids and estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and estimates for construction projects
  • Review and analyze project data, including quantities, costs, and schedules
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade contractors and suppliers
  • Perform quantity surveys and provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department
  • Assist in the development of bid documents and bid day assignments
  • Visit job sites periodically to gather information and observe construction activities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices
Requirements
  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical, electrical, or civil major
  • Strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is an asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
