Position OverviewWe are seeking a Lead Tax Compliance Specialist to join our expanding Finance & Accounting Team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in providing analytical insights that will drive informed decision-making across various departments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee the company's global corporate tax responsibilities, focusing on jurisdictions including the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, and EMEA.
- Assist in the preparation, review, and timely submission of corporate income tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Support the preparation of state income tax returns in accordance with respective state laws.
- Contribute to the development of the consolidated income tax provision and financial statement tax disclosures in line with US GAAP.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts and journal entries related to tax transactions.
- Act as the primary liaison with external tax advisors, government auditors, and financial auditors on tax-related matters.
- Provide expert tax advice to the organization regarding the tax implications of strategic and operational decisions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare documentation and support materials to substantiate Prenuvo's tax positions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct ongoing research in taxation to remain informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that may affect the company's tax structure.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to support tax compliance processes and collaborate effectively with external advisors and auditors.
- Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, particularly in relation to corporate income tax and state taxes.
- Exhibit adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning regarding evolving tax laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completion of or enrollment in Level 1 of CPA Canada's In-depth Tax Program or enrollment in a Canadian or US Master of Taxation Program.
- Experience in public practice tax at a national or international firm.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and preparation of financial statement tax notes under US GAAP.
The monthly compensation for this role ranges from $8,750 - $10,000, depending on experience.
