The Role
We are seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team at CANEX, a unique retail operation that supports our troops and the military family lifestyle. As a Cashier, you will provide retail services to our clients, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, postal services, and assisting CAF members with credit plan applications. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients, responding to their enquiries and providing information on merchandising.
- Ensure store shelves are stocked, faced, and properly signed.
- Take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.
- Operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float.
- Assist CAF members with credit plan applications.
Requirements
- Demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Food Handling Certification, as required.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (Quebec), as required.
- Experience in cash handling, food and beverage preparation and service, as required.
- Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership competencies.
Language Requirements
French is essential for this role.
