The Pediatric Otolaryngology department provides a full spectrum of consultative, surgical, and follow-up services for young patients. Our team addresses both common and complex conditions affecting the ear, nose, and throat, employing a collaborative approach to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Position Overview

The Physician Assistant will operate under the direct guidance of Pediatric Otolaryngologists, playing a crucial role in maintaining clinical protocols and ensuring continuity of care through evidence-based practices. This position involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals to deliver thorough medical assessments, management, and patient education.

The Physician Assistant will support the clinical operations of the Pediatric Otolaryngology service, which includes outpatient clinics and may extend to emergency and inpatient care settings. Responsibilities encompass a full range of services, including ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and consulting with other healthcare providers as necessary.

Work Schedule

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, with the possibility of evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Experience in Pediatric Otolaryngology or Pediatric Acute Care settings is preferred
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in advanced Otolaryngology practices, including physical assessments and diagnostic interventions
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough evaluations of pediatric patients
  • Knowledge of developmental milestones across various stages of childhood
  • Ability to develop and implement educational programs for patients and families
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development
  • Capacity to manage significant emotional stress while interacting with families of critically ill children
