Job Title: Associate Director, Commercial Financing

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Commercial Financing department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing financial and supporting documents on incoming applications and ensuring information is consistent with internal, insurer, and investor policies.

The Role:

The Associate Director contributes to the production and development of the commercial mortgage portfolio by:

  • Reviewing underwriting, credit applications, and loan commitments
  • Handling complex transactions from start to finish with minimal oversight
  • Working directly with clients and prospects to gather due diligence and recommend appropriate mortgage solutions
  • Making decisions on loan opportunities, complex structuring, and credit
  • Analyzing financial information on commercial properties, including rent rolls, operating statements, and financial/net worth statements
  • Reviewing third-party reports, including appraisal, phase I/II environmental reports, and engineering reports
  • Preparing loan summaries, including financial analysis and credit documents
  • Coordinating with funders, investors, legal, and other third-party consultants
  • Developing and analyzing construction/development pro-forma for various multi-unit housing type projects
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in commercial real estate lending
  • Undergraduate degree and/or MBA with a focus in finance or real estate
  • Knowledge of applicable real estate lending regulations
  • Experience in financial analysis and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, appraisers, engineers, lawyers, consultants, investors, and credit committees
  • Strong understanding of legal documentation, ownership structures, and AML requirements
