Job Title: Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON M5B 2L7 (Hybrid - 2 days in office weekly)

Duration: 12 months

Contract Type: T4

Pay Rate: CA$40.56/Hour

Role Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business growth and deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Develop and execute project opportunity strategies and deal summaries to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service to meet business needs.
  • Analyze market trends and develop insights and recommendations to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking activities to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven reports and dashboards to inform business decisions.
  • Coordinate and execute specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives, including tracking metrics and milestones.
  • Perform spend analysis and provide insights to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Prepare data for customized reports to support business decision-making.
  • Identify areas of opportunity through analysis of industries, supply markets, cost models, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and implement market-leading processes and practices to mitigate risk, drive innovation, and maximize value.
  • Develop project plans and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and resolving conflicting objectives.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to inform business decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on leading sourcing practices and promote adoption of sourcing standards.
  • Organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Continuously upgrade knowledge on event and sourcing methodologies, with a focus on strategic category development.
  • Effectively communicate key messages, recommendations, and results to all levels of management.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
Requirements:
  • Vendor sourcing background
  • Experience with vendor contractors (creating and negotiating)
  • Relevant strategic sourcing, supply chain, and/or procurement work experience
  • Knowledge of sourcing/procurement processes, procedures, and controls
  • Knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices, and standards across the project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement systems and applications
  • Able to network and manage vendor relationships
  • Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Able to lead discussions and possess excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
  • Excel and spreadsheet analysis
  • Experience in compiling, synthesizing, and drawing insights from a variety of research sources
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Marketing background (media, digital, promotions, sponsorships)
  • Competitive vendor sourcing experience
  • Knowledge of relevant risk and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of sourcing in Financial Services or Technology industries
  • Financial Services, Financial, or Cost Management experience
  • Technically inclined
