Position OverviewReporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Operations for Canteen will play a pivotal role in the Canteen Leadership team, responsible for meeting revenue, profit, and growth targets for the Sector through strategic leadership and support. This role is crucial in enhancing the retail experience for our clients in higher education, business and manufacturing, healthcare, and other sectors.
As a Vice President of Operations, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive strategic operational plans that align with the organization's vision and objectives.
- Driving Sector revenue and profitability by creating budget forecasts and operational plans, evaluating operational capabilities, and ensuring budget compliance.
- Fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture by leading through a servant-leader approach, focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams; creating succession plans; and ensuring a safe and supportive work environment.
- Overseeing core operations to guarantee efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effectiveness by establishing standards and communicating goals and expectations to the operations team.
- Expanding existing and new business opportunities within the Sector by implementing and supporting innovative business strategies in collaboration with Canteen support functions.
- Providing leadership, direction, and support to multiple teams, including the Core Canteen Operations team and relevant support teams, to achieve financial and operational objectives.

- A seasoned leader with extensive experience in consumer packaged goods or retail, demonstrating a passion for enhancing last-mile delivery and a vision for retail and merchandising excellence.
- Adept at navigating a dynamic environment and eager to tackle complex challenges.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that enable you to utilize data metrics to drive business growth, manage and mentor teams, and cultivate a collaborative and innovative workplace.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams and effective project management skills.
- A university degree, preferably an MBA or a related Master’s program.
- A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Operations, showcasing strong engagement and retention in a high-volume, multi-account management environment, including both unionized and non-unionized settings.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Windows-based office software.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
