The Role

Our Contamination Management & Environmental Operations team is eager to welcome an #EnergyProblemSolver to support our initiatives.

TC Energy is in search of an Environmental Consultant who possesses the expertise to deliver contamination oversight for our Canada Gas business unit. This role involves providing remediation and contamination management assistance to operational activities, integrity projects, and capital initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the skills necessary to ensure that contamination management practices adhere to regulatory standards and align with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support for contaminated site mitigation and management, including site planning, risk assessments, and contractor liaison.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations by preparing necessary submissions and responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Facilitate the execution of contaminated site projects with a focus on safety, objective clarity, budget management, and schedule compliance.
  • Oversee the work of environmental consultants, including budget forecasting and technical report evaluations.
  • Implement TC Energy's Contaminated Sites Strategy at locations with various types of contamination.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks associated with contaminated sites, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide ongoing subject matter expertise to internal teams regarding newly identified contamination and potential mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective identification and communication of contamination risks.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of program procedures and resources.
  • Build strong relationships with internal clients to align contamination management efforts with corporate goals.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes related to remediation and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for program improvements and innovative remediation practices.
  • Support the management of TC Energy's records for remediation reports and analytical data.
  • Implement TC Energy's Operational Management System (TOMS) to ensure effective environmental protection for contaminated sites.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in environmental or industry roles.
  • Experience managing federally regulated contaminated sites.
  • Familiarity with federal and provincial environmental regulations and agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certification.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to address complex challenges.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and network across various business functions.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
