Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Public Policy and Government Relations to lead our policy engagement efforts in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to advance Netflix's business interests in the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policy strategies to advance Netflix's business interests in Canada.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, and government officials.
  • Advise business partners on the impact of public policy developments on the business.
  • Monitor and advance legislative and regulatory initiatives in Canada.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including peer companies and third-party organizations.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to identify production priorities and facilitate production processes.
  • Manage external consultants and relationships with membership organizations.

Requirements:

  • At least 15 years of experience in legal, public policy, and advocacy.
  • Prior experience navigating regulatory and legislative bodies.
  • Experience working in government, studios, and content production, the private sector, a trade association, a law firm, or a policy organization.
  • Graduate training in a related discipline and/or a legal degree is also desirable.
  • French language skills are a plus.

  • An annual salary with a range of $280,000-960,000 USD.
