Citi is seeking a highly experienced Senior Learning and Development Manager to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of training programs for the Internal Audit organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a global team of trainers, instructional designers, and support staff responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of training programs.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of learning from design through to delivery and evaluation for a range of global programs, including learning for all global team members, new joiners, and role-specific programs.
- Lead the instructional design and development process, providing guidance to the instructional design team in creating engaging, effective, and innovative training materials.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive training curricula, ensuring they are updated and aligned with current business processes, global standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to the team, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the evaluation of team performance, including conducting assessments and providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead efforts to continuously innovate in training delivery by leveraging metrics, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to improve course content and effectiveness.
- In partnership with other Learning Advisors, provide management and consulting to the Internal Audit team partners and proactively identify and prioritize the L&D opportunities to support successful business outcomes.
- Manage capacity planning to ensure training resources are available to meet business demand and oversee team capacity.
- Work with subject matter experts to design high-quality, needs-based, learning programs that adhere to Citi standards and policies.
- Stay abreast of the latest external market trends and anticipate their impact on future capability requirements for the Internal Audit team.
- Stay current with the newest technologies for digital and adaptive/personalized learning and drive innovation and creativity within all learning programs.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 10+ years of experience in learning & development, with a focus on managing large-scale training programs and teams.
- Strong understanding of risk and controls, including the audit function.
- Proven experience with training program design, instructional development, and project management.
- Expertise in incorporating adult learning theory, practices, and methodologies into training material creation in a business setting.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and providing guidance to team members, with a strong track record of managing performance evaluations.
- Ability to manage resources, including capacity planning and budgeting.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to drive continuous improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and operate with high standards within tight timeframes.
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues, and strength in sustaining independent views.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal audit and senior management and self-confidence to drive decisions across the various IA teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Communication, Management, or related field. Master's Degree a plus.
