Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Revenue Accountant to join our finance department. This role involves close collaboration with operational teams and various revenue cycle stakeholders to manage routine administrative revenue cycle tasks and facilitate the resolution of billing challenges. The ideal candidate will possess experience working collaboratively with accounting and finance teams, with a preference for those familiar with software companies and Revenue Recognition principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input and verify sales orders within the ERP/Contract Revenue Management System, ensuring customer account details and billing information are accurate and aligned with agreed terms.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to assess the overall profitability of deals, including margin and cash flow evaluations.
  • Examine invoice line items to confirm accurate billing amounts and ensure subscription/revenue dates align with signed contracts.
  • Ensure revenue recognition practices adhere to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Conduct timely reconciliations of Unbilled and Deferred Revenue schedules for each customer.
  • Assist in monthly revenue reconciliations and monitor outstanding work orders.
  • Support quarterly and annual external audit processes, as well as ongoing internal control assessments, ensuring all documentation meets approval standards and evidences profitability/cash flow metrics.
  • Address inquiries from partners, customers, and sales representatives regarding revenue treatment, invoice queries, payment requests, and order status.
  • Regularly review billing backlogs to maintain the currency of installment-based billings and coordinate with Operations to resolve discrepancies.
  • Establish new customer accounts.
  • Identify and address business partner issues, providing applicable solutions.
  • Work with the sales team to standardize order forms and required supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reporting activities, including key performance indicators.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a multi-currency, multi-division environment.
  • Relevant experience in order processing within a Billing or Order Management context.
  • Familiarity with Great Plains is advantageous.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Background in the SaaS or Software industry is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and prioritize workload independently.
