We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our team at 98 Street Your Independent Grocer. This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around food preparation and kitchen management.
Qualifications- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced restaurant setting, including bistro-style service. Relocation costs will be covered by the employer.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of meals and individual dishes.
- Ensure dishes are safe for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Conduct inspections of kitchens and food service areas to maintain hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and work areas.
- Organize and manage buffets and banquets.
This position will involve working under the guidance of a general cook.
Cuisine SpecialtiesThe role will focus on Canadian, Vegetarian, and International cuisine.
TransportationPublic transportation options are readily available for commuting.
Work Conditions- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Tasks may be repetitive, requiring standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work under pressure.

This is a permanent position with a commitment of 32 hours per week. The primary working language is English.
