About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team at Specialty Air. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sheet metal products that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates and specifications.
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
  • Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Schedule work to meet production deadlines and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications.
  • Develop computerized patterns and layouts to optimize production efficiency.
  • Train and supervise other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Cut materials using power tools or by hand, as required.
  • Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment, as needed.
  • Fit and join sheet metal parts to create complex assemblies.
  • Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
Requirements
  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification.
  • Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification.
  • Sheet Metal Worker Red Seal Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with custom sheet metal items.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
