About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities Project Engineer to join our team at Volkswagen Canada. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful build and completion of our new facility in St. Thomas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site construction scheduling support to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Monitor and manage key project constraints, including time, budget, quality, and safety
  • Report on progress and ensure alignment with company vision and objectives
  • Represent the project's interests and work with site teams, contractors, subcontractors, and local officials to achieve project goals and scheduling milestones
  • Ensure alignment of facility design with standard factory designs and optimize local user requirements
  • Manage claims from construction companies and coordinate scheduling of milestones with partners
  • Prepare reports for project teams, business areas, and leadership
  • Conduct site inspections and deliver progress reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, MEP engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in engineering, architecture, construction, or equivalent
  • Well-organized with experience in setting up, scheduling, and tracking milestones in large construction projects
  • Able to work safely on an active construction site
  • Proficient in workflows and quality control/quality assurance
  • German language skills
