Job Title: Child and Youth Community Support Worker

Job Summary: Strive Living Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Community Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our community support team, you will work closely with children and youth who require support with daily living skills, social skills, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to children and youth in a community setting, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Teach social skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Support community integration, including accompanying individuals to appointments and activities.
  • Collaborate with the support team to develop and implement individualized support plans.

Requirements:

  • Class 5 BC Driver's License required and clean driver's abstract.
  • Personal vehicle for work and car insurance with a third-party liability of $2 million.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (or combination of education and experience).
  • Positive Behaviour Management Training.
  • Criminal Record Clearance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Children and Family Development.
  • Out-of-Country Police Clearance Certificate (if you have lived outside of Canada for 6 months or more).
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • MANDT Training will be offered in-house.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • 3 professional references.
