Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team at Westlake. As a key member of our shipping department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our forklifts, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and complete daily inspection forms
  • Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety procedures and protocols
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of materials
  • Monitor the quality of materials and products being handled and report any deficiencies to the Shipping Supervisor
  • Ensure that materials are stored in designated storage areas and that the work area is kept clean and organized
  • Participate in department and company meetings as applicable
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Previous manufacturing experience is an asset, but not required
  • Forklift certification acquired through company-sponsored training program
  • Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
  • Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
