Job Summary:

The Head Cashier is a key role at Home Depot, responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience in the front end of the store. As a leader, you will be accountable for motivating the team to consistently demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Sales and Promotions: Stay up-to-date on current promotions and communicate them effectively to the team, ensuring customers are aware of the latest deals and offers.
  • Train and Develop Team Members: Supervise and train cashiers and lot associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Set Performance Expectations: Clearly communicate performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members to ensure they are meeting their goals.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Ensure efficient front end and remote cashier operations, providing a positive experience for both internal and external customers.
  • Handle Customer Complaints: Professionally resolve customer complaints and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Follow all safety policies and standards to ensure a safe working and shopping environment for employees, customers, and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, with a strong track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and management.
  • Knowledge of Store Policies: In-depth knowledge of all policies, procedures, and duties related to customer transactions, cash handling, and the service desk.
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving: Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
