Senior Electrical Engineer for Transit Infrastructure

Position Overview
AECOM Buildings + Places is in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer - Transit Facilities who possesses significant expertise in transit-related projects to become a part of our dynamic team. This position offers flexibility with options for remote and hybrid work arrangements.

Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical design for prominent transit initiatives.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure comprehensive project requirements are met.
- Design electrical systems including normal, UPS, and emergency power solutions while developing One-Line Diagrams.
- Conduct site surveys to gather essential information and inventory panels for analysis.
- Create high-quality electrical engineering documentation, ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop lighting plans, incorporating zoning and control measures.
- Design fire alarm systems, including layout of devices, riser diagrams, and scheduling of zones.
- Act as a liaison between the Electrical Engineering team and other engineering services to enhance project coordination.
- Execute Grounding Grid Design and Calculations in accordance with IEEE-80, NEC, and client specifications.
- Generate Coordination Study Reports and perform Electrical Calculations for diverse facilities.
- Advise on Protective Device Settings to ensure effective coordination across various installations.
- Guide and mentor junior electrical engineers.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of six (6) years of experience as a licensed Electrical Engineer.
- Proven experience in electrical design for transportation projects with various regional and municipal transit authorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over fifteen (15) years of electrical design experience in transportation projects.
- Experience in Power System Analysis, Arc Flash Evaluations, Short Circuit Analysis, Equipment Evaluation, and Protective Device Coordination using specialized software.
- Ability to analyze various voltage systems in compliance with relevant standards.
- Proficiency in REVIT, AUTOCAD, Microstation, ETAP, and SKM software.
- Familiarity with TGS, LEED, and Net Zero standards.
Additional Information:
- This position does not offer relocation assistance.
- Sponsorship for employment authorization in Canada is not available.
- Travel to construction sites for inspections and reporting is a requirement.
- Some travel outside the local area may be necessary.
