We are currently seeking a Crew Leader to oversee our Distribution operations. This position operates on the Night - C Shift (Monday-Friday, 11:00pm-7:20am).

As the leader of the midnight shift team, the Crew Leader exemplifies team leadership within the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) framework. This role is crucial in ensuring the overall performance of a team of 3-4 lines, focusing on safety, quality, process reliability, sanitation, GMPs, and material yield. The Crew Leader actively promotes continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.

The successful candidate will effectively coach, train, and ensure 100% compliance with established procedures, demonstrating respect for the capabilities of all team members while adhering to McCormick's Shared Values. They will approach their responsibilities with the understanding that the company's success relies on the contributions of all individuals within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety and Human Resources policies.
  • Utilize the McCormick High Performance System (MHPS) to engage team members and foster collaboration.
  • Plan, direct, and support daily activities to meet goals and business initiatives, ensuring employees are adequately trained.
  • Lead Tier 1 HPO activities to maintain a safe, clean, organized, and defect-free environment.
  • Remove barriers to team performance, demonstrating urgency and ownership in problem resolution.
  • Facilitate daily team huddles and weekly meetings, maintaining communication with management regarding team performance.
  • Ensure key performance indicators are met.
  • Maintain consistency in operational procedures and best practices.
  • Address daily issues and coordinate with maintenance for non-routine adjustments.
  • Contribute to evaluations and development plans for team members, managing team dynamics effectively.
  • Ensure prompt reporting of any employee injuries.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new and existing employees, enhancing technical and business competencies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support overall plant objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including PDCA and root cause analysis.
  • Occasionally perform administrative tasks when required.
  • Be available for overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing or industrial experience or equivalent education.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of packaging/processing equipment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Ability to assess the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Proven leadership skills, with formal training considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of packaging/processing equipment and maintenance processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning tools.
  • Ability to operate all equipment in the facility, including Forklift.
