Job Title: Physiotherapist I

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist I to join our team in the Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program. As a Physiotherapist I, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide intervention to prevent, triage, screen, assess, diagnose, set goals, treat, manage, educate, consult, and foster resourcefulness in individuals, groups, populations, and communities.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports, and engage in quality improvement.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional community through peer mentoring and supervising students.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
  • Recent acute care experience in critical care required.
  • Experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is required.
  • Ability to work a weekend rotation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment and analytical skills.
  • Effective teaching skills for students and other professionals.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Netcare, Outlook, and other electronic medical records.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Connect Care trained.
  • Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care, Outlook, and other electronic medical records.
  • Preferred 1 year of experience in a critical care and burns setting.
  • Knowledge of burns, ortho/trauma/surgery, and end of life care.
