About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Installation Specialist to join our team at Oscar Tiles Inc. as a Flooring Installation Technician. As a Ceramic Tile Installer, you will be responsible for installing high-quality tile flooring and surfaces in commercial and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tile, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Mortar and Adhesive Application: Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels, ensuring a strong and durable bond.
  • Tile Installation: Set tiles in place, apply pressure to affix them to the base, and align and straighten tiles to ensure a level and even surface.
  • Obstacle Navigation: Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, ensuring a seamless and professional finish.
  • Grouting and Cleaning: Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout, leaving a clean and polished finish.
  • Tile Repair and Replacement: Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, ensuring a safe and secure surface.
  • Mosaic Tile Installation: Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs, requiring attention to detail and artistic flair.
  • Underbed and Anchor Installation: Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets, ensuring a sturdy and secure foundation.
  • Marble and Granite Installation: Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Terra Surface Installation: Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces, ensuring a durable and long-lasting finish.
  • Tile Strip Installation: Install tile strips, requiring attention to detail and a keen eye for precision.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Setting: Commercial and residential settings, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding, requiring handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week, requiring a regular and reliable work schedule.
  • Work Language: English, requiring strong communication and language skills.
