Job Summary

As the Head of People and Culture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing our company culture while championing the continuous improvement, professional development, and well-being of our employees. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, from recruitment, strategic talent planning, and total compensation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company's goals and values, fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, attracting top talent through innovative sourcing strategies, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees, handling all HR-related inquiries and conflicts with empathy, professionalism, and candor.
  • Update existing or develop and implement HR practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while promoting a fair and inclusive workplace.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement programs, and perks – making sure we have competitive offerings that support employee development, well-being, and retention.
  • Execute and oversee payroll processing operations, and use market analysis to provide recommendations to Senior Leaders regarding competitive pay structures and merit-based promotions and transfers.
  • Design and implement performance evaluation, world-class feedback, coaching, and support to employees and managers to drive individual and team performance.
  • Collaborate across company to identify learning needs and opportunities for skill development, curating learning resources and programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
  • Utilize data analytics to track HR metrics and KPIs, generating insights and recommendations to optimize HR initiatives and drive business outcomes.
  • Stay on top of changes in labor laws and regulations, ensuring company-wide compliance and mitigating HR-related risks.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic startup environment.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field that fostered transferrable skills (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of demonstrating strong HR leadership. Experience in start-ups is an asset. Experience in a high-growth, scale-up environment is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial – create approaches to developing new and innovative ideas that will help us build a world-leader.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of HR management, with a focus on talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
  • Pro-active, positive, can-do disposition, with evidence of the ability to support growing teams with integrity and flexibility.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing and executing the details.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS and benefits technologies and data reporting.
Additional Information

This position is only available to candidates already living in Canada that have legal status to work in Canada. Candidates living in the KW region are preferred, but not required.

The salary for this position is in the range of $140,000 to $170,000. The salary range is based on the minimum level of work experience and qualifications as listed above. This salaried position requires a minimum of 40 hours of work per week. More senior candidates may apply but note that the salary for the position has been set at the range listed.
